The aerial hoop is a circular steel apparatus suspended from the ceiling, on which circus artists may perform aerial acrobatics. It can be used static, spinning, or swinging.

Class Etiquette:

  • Female dancers must have their hair pulled back away from the face and secured neatly into a ponytail
  • Aerialists may not wear jewelry at all!!!
  • You must be courteous, respectful, and polite to all officials, hosts, teachers, and coaches. It’s important to be on your best behavior. Encourage and compliment other aerialists in training.
  • Remain away from all the equipment except during officially designated warm-up and training periods as coaches allowed.

  • Strength in your arms, shoulders, core, and upper body.
  • Flexibility
  • Balance and coordination

What should you wear?

  • Flexible, soft, well-fitted clothes like leggings, unitards, leotards
  • Legs and abdomen covered to protect your skin
